BA Electronic Music Production and DJ Practice in Manchester from September 2019/2021. I Graduated July 2022.
I completed a BTEC Higher National Diploma in Music Production in Ireland 2018/2019. and I also completed a QQI level 5 in Sound Production which finished during the summer of 2017.
My musical journey began back in 1999 when I first discovered a taste for clubs, lasers, and trance at the rather young age of 16. Me and a couple of mates went to the Mezzanine in Wolverhampton, England. Paul Oakenfold was playing. I grew up listening to a huge variety of music such as; Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Def Leppard, Fleetwood Mac, the Levellers, the Orb, Underworld to name a few! I often babysat for my younger sisters whilst my parents went to places like Golden in Stoke, Feel in Preston, T in the park and Glastonbury.
I am originally from Co.Durham and moved to Bleasdale (near Garstang), Lancashire when I was around 4 years old. I went to Garstang High School and lived in Lancashire until the age of 14, then I moved to Staffordshire. I lived in Staffordshire until the age of 16 and went to Wolgarston High School in Penkridge.
I moved to Ireland with my family in 1999, at the age of 16. I was still listening to Happy Hardcore, Dreamscape and Helter Skelter tape packs. Fast forward to 2001, after completing my Irish leaving certificate at the age of 18, I celebrated the occasion by purchasing tickets to Creamfields in Ireland, this was my first festival experience.
When I was 19 years old, I purchased my first set of turntables, they were temperamental to say the least, but this was a good thing because when I upgraded to Technics 1210’s a year later, the transition was easy. I became a regular at Club Space in Camolin, Ten in Waterford, South in Tramore, and went to the point depot in Dublin on many occasions for the winter/spring parties, Gatecrasher and Godskitchen. By this time I had a collection of mainly Hardhouse all purchased during weekly trips to Dublin. My hobby of record collecting, club tickets and everything else, was earned whilst working hard in the local factory, Kerry Foods, which leads me to 2008.
Moving to Manchester in England 2008, made sense at the time, because a lot of my time was already spent there, I was still going to clubs regularly and festivals during the summer months. I planned on studying Music Production whilst working in Manchester, but this ended up being much more difficult than I thought mainly due to living costs. I worked for Music Exchange, Manchester until 2009, then Loxton Foods (factory), Manchester from 2009 until 2012, then Music Magpie (warehouse), Manchester before backpacking to Australia.
I took a leap into the digital world sometime after 2008 and bought a set of Pioneer CDJ 1000’s from eBay from a guy emigrating to Africa! Got a really good deal at the time. I was extremely fortunate to land my first gig for a night in Manchester called Rong, warming up for international DJs Aly and Fila, Rank 1 and Jordan Suckley. This then lead on to a few more gigs and I was again, very fortunate to get gigs at; Future Forward in Leeds, Majefa in Manchester, Off The Rails pre-parties @ the Howard in Sheffield and Wax-format pre-party in Manchester.
In 2012, I packed my bags and went on a working holiday, backpacking around Australia for 1 year, and I spent my 30th Birthday in Melbourne! I worked in various places such as; Tomato grading in Melbourne, Subway Sandwich Artist in Karratha WA, and making beds in a busy hostel in Cairns QL in return for accommodation. I managed to break even on the whole trip.
I arrived back to Manchester in June 2013. I began a Foundation Degree in Music Production at School of Sound Recording (SSR) in September 2013. I completed the first year of the Foundation Degree in Music Production then moved back to Ireland in 2015. Scroll back to the top!
